So, a while back I posted I was having trouble with my dog with hip dysplasia?

Since February, I've had it diagnosed, and it turns out he has lumbosacral stenosis in his back, and the pinched nerves are making it look like it's his hip, when it's really nerve pain in that leg.
(I may have said on wajas it was something else, but I couldn't remember what is was called, I actually have his papers out right now.)

I have him on medication to help control the pain, and he seems to be doing well-ish.
I started saving to get him some PSGAG shots.(I'm not even going to try and spell the abbreviated name with it sitting on my desk.)
It's one shot, twice weekly, for one month. After that, once a month for the rest of his life.
For Bear, the vet says the shots are $55.

However, his brother started falling over in May. A little at first, then nearly daily. Needless to say, he's been to the vet already for that. He was also diagnosed with stenosis, and in addition to that the x-rays revealed he has a herniated disk further up his spine and arthritis in both knees.
He gets the shots first.
The vet said his would be $62 a shot.

I was still saving when, last Thursday, I got home to find he couldn't stand. I'd been in at college in Anchorage all day, I have no idea how long he'd been down. He was able to stand eventually, and it hasn't happened again since, but that was terrifying.

The reason I have papers on my desk? Bills.
I have nearly all the money I'll need to get him the course of shots, so Saturday he went in for his first. The vet was wrong, the shot was $68 dollars for Pete. So I'll need about $48 more, but I can get that pretty easily I imagine.

But I saved up quite a bit while my internet was canceled, and will have the money before the last shot is gone. Thankfully, in Alaska every citizen gets a dividend annually from the oil wealth, so I can use it to live on for a bit while I put all my money into Bear and Pete.

Of course this doesn't take into account the pills I have to feed them daily for pain. >_>;
